I just got done reading the entire Cirque du Freak series. All 12 of the books were absolutely fantastic! Every single book took me on an adventure and my imagination soared. When I got done reading the 9th book of the series I was distraught and honestly a wreck! I have never been so frustrated reading a book. One of my favorite main characters involved in the series, Mr. Crepsley was killed off. It’s not just that Mr. Crepsley was killed off, its how he died and that he died in vain! Mr. Crepsley is tricked into thinking that the vampires have won the War of the Scars by killing the Lord of the Vampaneze. The vampires have a personal vendetta towards Darren Shan’s ex-best friend Steve Leopard. So once Mr. Crepsley realized that the Lord of the Vampaneze was dead he went after Steve. During their quarrel Steve and Mr. Crepsley wind up falling over the edge of a cave. If they were both to fall, both of them would have been impaled and killed instantly. Just in reach Steve is grabbed by his protector and Mr. Crepsley hangs on to Steve, certain to kill both of them! Mr. Crepsley could have saved himself but he is filled with such rage and determination to kill Steve! But in the end Mr. Crepsley ends up letting Steve live in order to protect the lives of the vampires and he sacrifices his own life. I kept hoping that some how by some miracle Mr. Crepsley would come back to life so Darren had company. And I was honestly disappointed when he never returned, just stayed a memory in the rest of the series.
Chrissi, Sounds like a really thrilling series! I bet you were sad when you finished it.
